Neonatal Unit (NNU) Support Volunteer (Afternoons (1pm-4pm) and Evenings (5pm-8pm) Only)
Volunteers are a really important part of the team at MKUH, supporting patients and staff across the hospital, helping us do more.
At MKUH, giving your time helps make a big difference to our patients’ lives. Having volunteers enables us to do more, whether that is time to spend with patients, or helping give our teams extra capacity. Volunteers are vital in helping the Trust deliver the highest quality healthcare possible to our many patients.
Volunteering is also an excellent opportunity for people to give back to their local hospital and to help make a real difference.
The Neonatal unit (NNU) has a total of 16 cots, it cares for preterm babies born after 27 weeks gestation and also term babies who can be born very sick. Babies born this early or this sick can be in hospital for many weeks so the families require as much support as possible.
Can you help us achieve our goal to improve patient and family experience throughout their hospital stay? We require passionate and outgoing individuals to support our parents and families on NNU.
We look for you to be able to commit to a minimum of 3 hours a week for 6 months. If you have any experience or particular interest tell us, it may come in useful. It’s really easy to get your volunteering started. If you're over 18 years old, just click on ‘Apply’ and get filling in your details!
