Ward Support Volunteer (Ward 4 - weekdays only - office hours)
Volunteers are a really important part of the team at MKUH, supporting patients and staff across the hospital, helping us do more.
At MKUH, giving your time helps make a big difference to our patients’ lives. Having volunteers enables us to do more, whether that is time to spend with patients, or helping give our teams extra capacity. Volunteers are vital in helping the Trust deliver the highest quality healthcare possible to our many patients.
Volunteering is also an excellent opportunity for people to give back to their local hospital and to help make a real difference.
Can you help us achieve our goal to improve patient's wellbeing and mental health throughout their hospital stay? We require passionate and outgoing individuals to help our staff assist with providing group play activities for our youngest patients.
Ward 4 is the Paediatric Assessment Unit (PAU) accepting patients from MK Urgent Care Centre, Emergency Department and GPs and those who need admitting will have a bed in the Dolphin ward situated on Ward 4. Paediatric Day surgery and Day Care patients are also seen in Ward 4. Ward 5 is a 22 bed children's ward for sick children aged 0-16 years.
We look for you to be able to commit to a minimum of 3 hours a week for 6 months. If you have any experience or particular interest tell us, it may come in useful. It’s really easy to get your volunteering started. If you're over 16 years old, just click on ‘Apply’ and get filling in your details!
