Ward Support Volunteer (Ward 8)

Opportunity image

Volunteers are a really important part of the team at MKUH, supporting patients and staff across the hospital, helping us do more.

Can you help us achieve our goal to improve patient's wellbeing and mental health throughout their hospital stay? We require passionate and outgoing individuals to provide ward and companion support to patients in Ward 8. Ward 8 is our Endocrinology/Diabetes ward. You might be assisting the team with offering a snack round including tea and coffee, reading the newspaper, being a companion for a patient who might need reassurance and company if they are lonely and perhaps have not had any visitors.

At MKUH, giving your time helps make a big difference to our patients’ lives. Having volunteers enables us to do more, whether that is time to spend with patients, or helping give our teams extra capacity. Volunteers are vital in helping the Trust deliver the highest quality healthcare possible to our many patients.

Volunteering is also an excellent opportunity for people to give back to their local hospital and to help make a real difference.

We look for you to be able to commit to a minimum of 3 hours a week for 6 months. If you have any experience or particular interest tell us, it may come in useful. It’s really easy to get your volunteering started. If you're over 16 years old, just click on ‘Apply’ and get filling in your details!
